Course description

South Africa was once the manufacturing hub of Africa, and investment in capital equipment and machinery has the potential to revive its manufacturing sector. The country has the necessary infrastructure and human capital to support a thriving manufacturing sector that relies heavily on capital equipment and machinery for production processes across various sectors such as automotive, construction,

agriculture, and mining, among others. However, for the country to regain its status as a manufacturing hub, it is essential to invest in capital equipment and machinery which enhances productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness.

Investment in capital equipment and machinery will not only create job opportunities but also stimulate economic growth and development in the country. Government aims to appoint an implementing partner that will ensure that local entrepreneurs and SMMEs within the capital equipment and Machinery are provided with training and capacity building opportunities, knowledge, and resources needed to participate effectively in the manufacturing value chain. By supporting the development of a skilled workforce and a vibrant ecosystem of SMMEs, these programs contribute to the overall competitiveness and resilience of Gauteng's manufacturing sector, driving economic growth, job creation, and socio-economic development in the country.
